China’s Increasing Power

China is a growing power, and they are rising in the face of the US recession. They are expanding militarily through the investment in aircraft carriers, cyberwarfare, and space infrastructure. Just this month they launched their first aircraft carrier – with plans on building their own carriers and navy. Many believe that China is looking back at neighboring Japan and Thailand, each of whom also have their own aircraft carriers. China has advanced cybernetics capabilities, as shown in multiple international attacks. The frequency of these attacks will undoubtedly increase with China’s expansion.

Satellites and space communication infrastructure is becoming a major issue with China. They have since began developing their own satellites, and are working on devices that can destroy them. Communications between satellites and the ground will enable for China’s greater efficiency, and for more information on troop logistics. They are also used to network between new air units that are creating the beginnings of a denied airspace over China….

Overall, China is disregarding the United States and going onto their own concerns. The United States is slowing imports, as we have a long ways to go on this recession. China is also beginning to see how much leverage they have with the foreign debt we owe to them. Finally, the leadership of Obama and the diplomacy of self-proclaimed loom Biden does not mean anything to Americans – why should it to China?
